Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett announced that he would like to donate more than 80 percent of his fortune to charitable foundations. By 2020, he increased that percentage to a whopping 99 percent. The main recipient was the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, founded by Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his then wife, Melinda. It was is focused on global education and health; Bill and Buffett have maintained a close relationship since the beginning of the 1990s. The three Buffett children, as well as the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation (named after his wife) were among the organizations that were the recipients of donations. They were focused on the rights of women's reproductive health, provided college scholarships, and several other charities. The Giving Pledge was an invitation for wealthy individuals to contribute a large percentage of their assets to charities established by Buffett and Gates in 2010.
